How I became a security leader as an autistic person and ADHD |
Abstract
Diagnosis and awareness of autism, ADHD and neurodiversity in general is increasing. Many autistic people and people with ADHD suffer from discrimination or workplaces that do not know what accomodations to put in place. I had to learn what I needed to help educate and uplift my workplace but this was an iterative process. There are many neurodiverse people in cyber security who have a thirst for learning, knowledge and complexity of problem solving. In this talk, I will go through my career. I will share and highlight challenges I experienced and accomodations I discovered that worked for me. I will share key learnings about how I succeeded that the audience could use in their daily place of work.
