Abstract
The talk, co-presented by Keyur and Patrick, will provide a brief overview on a Cyber incident in 2021 when they were defending the enterprise. While common guidance is to prepare using Incident Playbooks for Cyber events, our talk will focus on how to pay off a significant amount of security debt within an organisation with buy-in from management as part of the incident response. Speaker Bio: Keyur Lavingia is an accomplished Cyber Security Leader with over two decades of experience in managing large and complex program initiatives, mentoring global teams, and aligning information security objectives with business strategy. He is currently serving as the Associate Director (Deputy CISO) of Cybersecurity and Identity at RMIT University, where he is responsible for uplifting global cybersecurity and identity capabilities for all RMIT entities in Australia, Europe, and Asia. Keyur has a proven track record of defining cybersecurity strategies, developing business cases, and delivering strategic outcomes. He has developed, implemented, and operationalized annual enterprise security strategies, elevating security maturity three-fold within a five-year period, and led the strategic delivery of all Identity and security aspects of the University’s ERP program (Workday). Keyur holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Accounting and Statistics, a Diploma in Systems Management, a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM - 2015), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP -2001). Patrick Kean (CISSP) is the Manager of Cybersecurity at RMIT University, with almost a decades experience in security operations, identity and access management, architecture and network security. Patrick has successfully implemented and led a range of cybersecurity uplift programs across a global audience. |
