A modern approach to protecting Sparkle Flowers, Ting Ting and Toot Toot*
|
Abstract
Last year we bought a house that backs onto bushland (with foxes), this presented a problem for our pet chickens Toot Toot, Ting Ting and Sparkle Flowers (our daughter named them...). This left me with two options: 1) Arm the chickens so they can defend themselves (Noting their lineage back to the velociraptor, somewhere along the evolutionary path they forgot how to defend themselves appropriately from predators) OR 2) Use a modern approach and construct a home surveillance system that uses a machine learning image inference model to identify foxes, and then attempt to link that to my home automation to scare away foxes.
